A cave começou por ser um sítio escuro e húmido, cheio de tralha antiga e muita coisa a apodrecer. Não tem janelas mas paredes grossas e um dos lados é uma rocha enorme que sustenta a cozinha. Uma das grandes vantagens da cave é que a temperatura no seu interior nunca oscila muito.
Processo
Estava por minha conta e com o espírito de reaproveitar, tirei as coisas vagarosamente, limpei-as, inspeccionei-as e separei-as em grupos cá fora. De alguma forma consegui ver o filme de como viviam ali no passado através dos objectos e especialmente quando observei as roupas do antigo agricultor (que nunca vi) que aparentava ser alto para a altura (É que já me tenho questionado como é que as portas do casebre até nem são muito baixas).
Com a chegada dos meus pais vieram as perguntas: "Mas para que é que tu queres isso? Deita mas é isso fora!" Recentemente já deitei algumas garrafas, copos e talheres fora mas certas coisas têm-me dado um jeitão para os meus projectos.
Deixei as máquinas de limpeza (os meus pais) à solta e depois partilhei um momento com o meu pai de pedreiros e pintores. Foi provavelmente a primeira vez que sei cimento (para tapar uns buracos na parede) e ele parece ter ficado impressionado. Pintá-mos as paredes de branco para que o "buraco" não ficasse tão escuro.
A porta, bastante desfeita mas ainda com as dobradiças enterradas na pedra, foi reparada por mim. Pela vontade do meu pai tinha sido nova. Como a estrutura é de uma madeira de boa qualidade, substituí os tampos (deixei um postigo) e coloquei uma fechadura. Não é que uma pezada não a abra mas pelo menos está mais bonita.
Utilização
A cave tem servido exactamente para o que estava destinada. É onde guardo as ferramentas, os materiais como madeira, redes, lonas, tubos e arames, as sementes, o núcleo do sistema eléctrico, algumas velharias e os ratos e ratinhos que acham o sítio acolhedor.
Melhorias
As entradas de água têm sido resolvidas gradualmente. É difícil dizer que ficará perfeito quando uma parede é feita de rocha. A porta será eventualmente substituída mas a segurança (medo) não é a minha prioridade. Recentemente já levou uma luz no tecto que é logo outra coisa.

Tinta, cimento, fechadura e pouco mais (não faço ideia)

The basement began as a dark and damp place, full of junk and rotting stuff. It has no windows but thick walls and one side is a huge rock that holds the kitchen. One of the great advantages of the basement is that the temperature inside never changes much.
Process
I was on my own and with the spirit of reuse, I took things slowly, cleaned them, inspected them and separated them into groups outside. Somehow I got to see the movie of how they lived there in the past through the objects and especially when I looked at the old farmer's clothes (which I never saw) that appeared to be tall for the time. (I've already wondered how the doors of the hovel are not that short).
With the arrival of my parents came the questions: "But what do you want this for? Throw that away!" Recently I have thrown some bottles, glasses and cutlery out but certain things have been very useful in my projects.
I left the cleaning machines (my parents) on the loose and then shared a moment with my father of masons and painters. It was probably the first time I used cement (to plug holes in the wall) it seems he have been impressed. We painted the walls in white so the "hole" wouldn't get so dark.
The door, quite in pieces but still with the hinges buried in the stone, was repaired by me. By the will of my father it had been a new one. As the structure is of a good quality wood, I replaced the tops (I left a wicket) and put a lock. It's not that a kick doesn't open it but at least it's more beautiful.
Use
The basement has served exactly what it was intended for. It's where I keep the tools, the materials like wood, nets, tarps, tubes and wires, seeds, the core of the electrical system, some junk, and mice and rats that find the place cozy.
Improvements
The water intakes have been gradually fixed. It's difficult to say that it will be perfect when a wall is made of rock. The door will eventually be replaced, but security (fear) is not my priority. Recently it took a lamp in the ceiling that makes it look much better.

Paint, cement, lock and little else (I have no idea)
