Nestes últimos meses ouvi várias pessoas a queixarem-se de tanta chuva. Eu dizia: "Mas é boa para as plantinhas".
In the last months, I’ve heard several people complaining about so much rain. I would say: “But it’s good for the plants.”
When I arrive at my little paradise… I face an explosion of life: so much green, so many colors, so many scents, so much water, so many birds singing, so many insects of different shapes, so much vitality...
I just can't help but feel amazed, even as the days go by. It’s like an overdose of wonder that I’m not sure others understand. I’ve never seen so many flowers in my life: olive trees, brooms, poppies, rosemary, elderflowers, thistles, white, purple, yellow, delicate, dominant...
The cork oaks have a strange color... kind of yellowish. Maybe they don’t like so much water (I thought). No, they’re full of flowers. They have more flowers than leaves, and more leaves than usual.
Mr. Zé says he’s never seen so much rain from one summer to the next. And if all that rain turned into this, I wasn’t being grateful enough when I said it was good for the plants and, this is probably the most beautiful spring of my life.
Thank you, rain.
